History lesson in Edinburgh

Rosie and Ellie

Just because your off school it doesn’t mean to say you can’t learn a little history, especially if that history is about your grandad’s old regiment. The willing pupils are Rosie & Ellie who’s father Graham is a  regular Twitter contributor to Myfavouritebench. Graham also runs  two gorgeous holiday cottages in Rosedale and Whitby.

Rosie and Ellie can be seen stood behind a Memorial bench, dedicated to their Grandad’s old army regiment The Lothian & Boarder Horse Yeomanry (nicknamed the Princes Sreet Lancers)  The bench is situated under Scott Monument in East Princes Street, Edinburgh, Scotland. Graham’s dad Henry Marshall was a tank driver between 1942 and 1945 serving in both Africa and Italy with the 1st & 8th Army. I think both girls would agree that Edinburgh is not a bad place to have a Dads history lesson and Thank you for sharing your story.
